Asilomar Capital is a value-oriented investment holding company. With permanent capital, we invest in both public and private companies seeking long-term investment returns and preservation of our investors’ capital. We invest in high-quality businesses with durable competitive advantages and high returns on invested capital.

A core element of this strategy is investing in private businesses. We partner with small business owners to effect successful succession plans, ensuring a smooth transition for companies and owners. We are in the business of partnering with small business owners. 

Investment Philosophy

Our long-term investment goal is to maximize the partnership’s average annual rate of return. We own pieces of businesses that generate cash and consistently earn above-average returns on capital. The price and availability of businesses will determine any given year’s invested capital.

We buy small pieces of large publicly listed companies and large pieces of privately held small businesses. In both cases, we week to partner with high-integrity counterparts and management teams.

We think of our investors and business partners as owner-partners and ourselves as manager-partners. We do not view the partnership itself as the ultimate owner of our business assets, but instead view the partnership as a conduit through which our partners own the assets.

In line with this orientation, we have a significant portion of our own net worth invested in the partnership. We cannot promise you results. But we can guarantee that your financial fortunes will move in lockstep with ours for whatever period of time you choose to partner with us.
